NABS bathes non-ambulatory patients while continuously scanning the skin for pressure injury. A FLIR Lepton 3.5 captures radiometric thermography over eight supine bony prominences; a ResNet-50 stages findings on the Raspberry 5 at the bedside. The aim is detection at Stage I or deep tissue injury — before the wound is visible to the eye. Below is the current artifact set: simulators, console hardware, drawings, and the process model.

NABS-SIM-001

Thermal field simulator

Live 160 × 120 radiometric field at the sensor's true 8.7 Hz, with regional perfusion and acral cooling modeled per anatomical region. Eight reticles track ΔT against contralateral or peri-site reference. Four scenarios: baseline, sacral DTI, calcaneal Stage 2, post-reposition recovery. Includes the ResNet-50 softmax, the knight's-tour sampling lattice, and Kafka topic counters.

Operator console — 3D general arrangement

Front panel assembly in three dimensions: 520 × 300 × 200 mm console on a rolling stand with bedrail clamp arm, fluid interface unit, and wash/dry umbilicals. Drag to orbit. Geometry is exportable, and both formats are published below.

Engineering drawing — arrangement, fluid & electrical schematics

Two sheets. General arrangement of the operator console, then front panel detail with the fluid circuit and electrical schematics — the plumbing and power side of the machine that the dashboards don't show.

Frame from the NABS process cycle animation showing the gantry over a supine patient
NABS-PROC-001

Process cycle animation

The full pass — home, scan, wash, dry, re-scan, stage, act — driven by a data-defined phase spec rather than hard-coded control flow. Rendered in base R. The thermal field is synthetic and isolated in a single function, so a real co-registered Lepton frame drops in without touching the geometry or timeline.

Six synthetic thermal phantoms with green Warnock ROI boxes over knight's-tour coverage
NABS-PHN-001

Synthetic phantom set — Warnock ROIs on knight's-tour coverage

Six synthetic thermal phantoms spanning ΔT −2 °C to +4 °C, with Warnock subdivision ROIs drawn over knight's-tour sampling coverage. Adaptive subdivision concentrates where thermal gradient is high and stays coarse where the field is flat — the training and validation substrate for the staging classifier.

NABS clinical telemetry console showing vitals, thermal ROI, NPUAP staging and propagation model
NABS-CLI-001

Clinical telemetry console

Bedside view: heart rate, skin moisture against threshold, skin temperature, the thermal ROI with per-zone ΔT and staging, and the knight's-tour propagation model projected through tissue planes from epidermis to periosteum. Clinical event feed on a Kafka consumer.
